In 2013, after accidentally cutting her newborn son’s delicate nail with traditional baby clippers, Julia Christie began searching for a safer alternative. Frustrated that nail-trimming tools had barely changed in more than 140 years; she created the idea for the Nail Snail®.

The first design was sketched at 5am on 1 April 2014. Since then, the Nail Snail® has grown into an award-winning 3-in-1 nail trimmer for babies and children from birth to five years.

Designed to make nail trimming safer, easier and faster, the Nail Snail® gives parents greater confidence when caring for precious little nails.

Julia Christie is a mother of three, former teacher, jazz singer and the inventor of the Nail Snail®—although “CEO” and “inventor” were never titles she expected to have!

After a nail-trimming mishap with her baby boy, Julia set out to create a safer, easier and faster way to trim little nails. She took the  to baby expos across Australia, demonstrating it to parents and carers and building a loyal community through word of mouth.

Today, the Nail Snail® is a multi-award-winning product sold around the world. Julia's company supports work-from-home parents returning to the workforce, something Julia is incredibly proud of.

When she isn’t growing the business, mentoring women and students, or supporting children’s charities, Julia enjoys karate, dancing, pottery and beach time with her family. She is also writing a children’s book designed to inspire young imaginations.

And why turquoise? It’s Julia’s favourite colour, and she knew she would be looking at thousands of Nail Snail® for years to come.
